Actor Gautam Rode bags a new show

If latest media reports are to be believed, popular actor Gautam Rode has bagged a new show. Tentatively titled Mithi, the soap is said to be for the leading GEC Star Plus. Well, if the news is really true, it will be Rode's fourth fiction show for the channel after Baa Bahoo Aur Baby, Lucky, and Saraswatichandra. In all, Saraswatichandra, which also starred Jennifer Winget in the lead role, remains his most loved fiction show to date.

Gautam has been on a sabbatical from television since his mythological show Suryaputra Karn came to an end in 2016. He was last seen in the suspense thriller film Aksar 2. Despite being a sequel to a hit film like Aksar, it failed to fare well at the ticket window.

It seems that the dismal performance of the film led the actor move to his first love - television. Gautam enjoys a huge fan base among the television audience, which means that his new show might be welcomed with open arms.

To be produced by Sphere Origins, Mithi will be shot across the beautiful locales of Kashmir. Reportedly, the actor has already shot for the pilot in the valley.
