A film on homosexuality on my radar, says Ayushmann Khurrana

Within six years of debuting with Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor (2012), Ayushmann Khurrana has established himself as one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood. He is a go-to actor for many filmmakers, especially those who want to make films on diverse, unconventional topics, ranging from sperm donation to erectile dysfunction.

Khurrana, who was most recently seen in Badhaai Ho (2018), a film revolving around mid-life pregnancy, now wants to play a gay man in a film based on the topic of homosexuality. However, he has one condition – it should be a light-hearted film with a message.

"I’d love to do a film on homosexuality. That’s on my radar. I should be the first one to do it. A mainstream film on homosexuality should happen as soon as possible. But it cannot be serious. It must be entertaining and fun. I would like to send out a strong message in a fun way, just like in my previous films," said the actor.

Well, we hope some director fulfils his wish and casts him in a film on homosexuality soon because we also want a sensible film on the said issue.

Talking about Khurrana’s next, rumour has it that he has signed the remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1976 romantic comedy film Chhoti Si Baat. An official confirmation is awaited.

The controversy around Sarke Chunar has taken another turn, with Nora Fatehi scheduled to appear before the National Commission for Women (NCW) after being summoned over the song’s alleged portrayal of women.

The track, featured in the Kannada film KD The Devil, sparked criticism after the Hindi version was released online in March. Despite this, clips of the song continued circulating across social media platforms.
