Charity experts have warned that a study that found drinking alcohol decreases the chance of developing diabetes should be taken with a “pinch of salt.” Dr Emily Burns, who is an acting head of research communications for Diabetes UK, told Eastern Eye on Monday (30) that she does not see these results as a “green light” for going above the UK government guidelines of 14 units a week for men and for women. “We don’t want people to see these results and think it is a way to help them reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes,” Dr Burns said.…
