Parineeti attended Manchester Business School, where she received triple honours degree in Business, Finance and Economic.

The PR Consultant from Yash Raj Films turned actress made her debut in Bollywood as a supporting actress in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011). She received Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her role as Dimple Chaddha.


Parineeti’s second movie with Yash Raj films out of three was Ishaqzaade. She won the Special Mention Award by National Film Awards and Superstar of Tomorrow – Female by Stardust Award.

Her second movie with Arjun Kapoor after Ishaqzaade is Namaste England, which released 18 October this year. Audiences loved her with Arjun as a couple and they still get called by their character names from Ishaqzaade.

Parineeti is also a trained classical singer. She sung Maane Ke Hum Yaar Nahin for her movie Meri Pyaari Bindu opposite Ayushmaan Khurrana.

Anoushka Shankar has called out Air India after discovering her sitar badly cracked when she opened the case after a recent flight. She posted a video online showing the split running across the lower end of the instrument. The clip raised quick questions about how the airline handled it, especially since she said she paid the handling fee and used the same protective cases she always travels with.

Shankar said it was her first time choosing Air India in years, and that made the discovery harder to accept. She added that the sitar had travelled safely for more than a decade on other carriers without even a peg slipping.
