ZEE5 Global’s On The Road Campaign to serve up ice cream and South Asian entertainment in London

ZEE5 Global’s On The Road Campaign to serve up ice cream and South Asian entertainment in London

ZEE5 Global, the world’s largest streaming platform for South Asian content, takes to the streets of London this weekend in an iconic ice cream van to serve Londoners their favourite soft serves and create brand awareness from 10th to 12th September.

Titled ‘On The Road’, the streaming platform’s newest campaign looks to engage London’s South Asian Millennials with free ice cream and a glimpse into the vivid stories of South Asia.

Ice cream is a sure-fire way to beat the summer heat, and given that the UK loves its summer months, saying goodbye is hard. On The Road is ZEE5’s way of keeping the summer around for a little longer by engaging consumers with something that’s hard to beat - good old ice cream.

Driving from West London (Harrow, Wembley, Ealing Broadway, Southall) to East & Central London, covering Green Street, Ilford Lane and Hyde Park, the ZEE5 van is providing London residents with means to easily download the app and get a glimpse of all the fascinating stories that South Asia has to offer through ZEE5.

To get a free serving of their favourite ice cream, Londoners can scan the QR code on the side of the van, download the app, engage with ZEE5 social media and enjoy their delicious ice cream!

The 3-day campaign aims to capture not just the attention of Londoners through a culturally British icon: the ice cream van, but also familiarise people with the extraordinary South Asian-themed stories on its platform. ZEE5 has named the ice creams after its content titles. Londoners can choose from:

  • Dial 100 – Soft serve ice cream, chocolate sauce, mixed sprinkles & wafer
  • 14 Phere – Soft serve ice cream, strawberry sauce & wafer
  • Qubool Hai – Soft serve ice cream, mixed sprinkles & wafer
  • Dhoop Ki Deewar – Soft serve ice cream, mixed sauces & wafer

Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global, said, “Londoners, do look out this bright cheery truck bringing you loads of summer cheer from The World's Largest Streaming Platform for South Asians! To crank up brand visibility just as summer is winding down and folks are getting back out after a prolonged lock-in, the happy ZEE5 truck will be seen across key locations distributing waffle cones of ice cream to Londoners, alongside their much-loved tv shows and movies with their favourite stars. This is one among the many fun and quirky initiatives we have lined up to engage with our audiences so do look out for more such!”

Kanye West says he should have started a family with Paris Hilton, instead of Kim Kardashian

Kanye West is once again in the headlines, and again not for good reason. In a messy livestream, the rapper said he should have had children with Paris Hilton instead of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. According to West, partnering with Hilton would have secured him a bigger slice of the Hilton hotel fortune, something he now feels he missed out on.

Speaking on Twitch, Kanye bluntly said, “Kim was Paris Hilton’s assistant. I should’ve had babies with Paris Hilton over Kim Kardashian!” He even joked that he would have been staying in Hilton hotels by now if that had happened. Moments after the rant, Twitch shut down his stream and banned him.

Shah Rukh Khan moves out of Mannat for renovation, vendors around iconic bungalow struggle

Shah Rukh Khan has temporarily moved out of his famous home, Mannat, as the bungalow undergoes a major renovation expected to last two years. The actor and his family, wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam have shifted into a luxury apartment at Pali Hill in Bandra. But while the Khans settle into their new space, vendors around Mannat are struggling.

Mannat has always been a magnet for fans. People would travel across cities just to stand outside the iconic gates, hoping to catch a glimpse of Bollywood’s beloved star. The constant flow of visitors helped local businesses thrive. Ice-cream sellers, food stalls, and souvenir shops all benefited. Now, with Shah Rukh not living there, the crowd has thinned out dramatically.
