Zareen Khan wins Best Actress award at RIFF 2020 for her LGBTQ film Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele

Zareen Khan’s last Bollywood film was 2018 release 1921, and now, she will next be seen in a film titled Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele. Well, the film has been making a mark at the film festivals. It had received the Best Film Audience Choice Award at the HBO South Asian International Film Festival in New York.

Now, recently, at the Rajasthan International Film Festival, Zareen won Best Actress award for her performance in the film. An elated Zareen said, "I feel overwhelmed on receiving this award. Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele already won the best film award in South Asian international film awards that happened in New York. And now Rajasthan International film festival has awarded me the best actress Hindi feature film."


"This award is going to always be very special for me because I received it exactly on the same day that marked my 10 years in this industry and also from the same city where my first film Veer was shot," the actress added.

Zareen made her debut opposite Salman Khan in 2010 release Veer. She has been a part of successful films like Housefull 2, Hate Story 3 and others. Apart from Bollywood, Zareen is also making a mark in the Punjabi film industry.

Talking about Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele, the film is directed by Harish Vyas and also stars Anshuman Jha in the lead role. It is slated to release during Valentine’s Day this year. The title of the film surely reminds us of the song from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.

GREATER MANCHESTER POLICE is now investigating more than 1,000 child sexual abuse suspects, following years of public criticism and institutional failings in tackling child sexual exploitation.

Major changes announced for Leicester’s Diwali celebrations amid safety fears

THIS year’s annual Diwali celebrations will be stripped back amid public safety fears. Leicester City Council has said there will be no fireworks or stage entertainment as part of major changes announced for the event.

Cossington Street Recreation Ground will also not be used for the festivities, the council has revealed. The green space previously was the location for the main stage and the Diwali Village with its food stalls, funfair rides, fashion and arts. The annual fire garden display was also based there, offering “a peaceful oasis amid the festive excitement”.
