“With Dabangg, it’s like a homecoming,” says Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha stepped into Bollywood with the first instalment of the Dabangg franchise, which hit the marquee in 2010. The film went on to become a huge money spinner at the box-office and shot the debutante to overnight stardom.

After impressing the audience with her performance as Rajjo in Dabangg and Dabangg 2, Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up to weave the same magic in the third instalment of Dabangg, which is releasing in two weeks from now.

Looking back at her journey, which began nine years ago with Dabangg, Sonakshi got a little emotional and said, “It has been nine years since part one and seven years since part two was released, and I just cannot believe it has been nine years since I started my career. It is an emotional moment and especially with Dabangg, it is like a homecoming. Whenever I am on the sets of Dabangg, it is like shooting with my family. It has been a tremendous journey.”

The actress went on to add that Dabangg gave her clarity about what to do in life. “I have realised that on-sets experience is the best teacher. I have worked with so many people and each one has taught me something. I just hope that the learning process never ends because that is how you grow. When I started off, I did not have any clarity. I did not know if I would continue acting. I was told to do this film but once I faced the cameras, I started loving it. In a way, Dabangg gave me clarity on what to do in life,” the actress said in conclusion.

Also starring Salman Khan, Saiee Manjrekar and Kichcha Sudeep in lead role, Dabangg 3 is poised for its theatrical release on 20th December, 2019. The third instalment of the franchise has been directed by Prabhudheva.

The voice that made nature feel personal

As David Attenborough celebrates his 100th birthday, colleagues say the broadcaster’s greatest strength has never been celebrity, but the calm authority that persuaded audiences to care about the natural world.

For more than seven decades, Attenborough has shaped wildlife storytelling through landmark BBC series including Blue Planet, Blue Planet II and Life on Earth. Producers say his involvement extends far beyond narration, with projects often taking years to complete and Attenborough remaining closely involved throughout the process.
