The Top Architecture Trends for 2020 and How to Replicate Them in Your Own Home

A stylish home is a goal for many. No matter where you are living or what type of home you have, there are many things you can do to improve your home. Here are some of the best trends of 2020 and how you can implement them in your own home.

Minimalism

Clutter is a thing of the past. Minimalism is firmly in. You need to embrace clean, open spaces with lots of natural light. People are choosing to hide their clutter away in cleverly designed storage units and other solutions to maximise the space they already have.

You start this trend by taking a look at what you already own. There is a good chance that you will actually be able to part with most of it. Whether you use a strict decluttering method, or something a little more relaxed, you should be able to get rid of much of the clutter in your life. Minimal areas are a lot of work but they can also feel very peaceful when we finish them.

An Emphasis on Kitchens and Bathrooms

While the kitchen has long been the heart of the home, many people are also turning their attention to their bathrooms. They want to create a spa-like experience within their own home. From majestic walk-in showers, to free-standing tubs, there is no end to the items people are securing for their own bathrooms.

When it comes to kitchens, functionality is up. Integrated appliances are massive right now and they help people to manage their cooking and clean-up easily whether they are natural cooks or prefer to keep it simple.

No matter what you prefer for your kitchen and bathroom, you can easily find some budget options to suit you. Many low-cost companies are looking to deliver high-quality solutions to their customers to match what bespoke craftsmen are able to offer those with higher budgets.

Bringing the Outdoors In

We have enjoyed some spectacular summers over the past few years. Anyone who has found themselves spending more and more time outside as the nights grow long and warm should look into some ways they can bring the outdoors into their home.

One of the most popular options is to invest in bi-fold doors. These are put along the back of a property and, when open, they can make such a difference to a home and its gardens. If you want a seamless space between your back garden and living area, investing in bi-fold doors might help you to achieve this.

Eco-Builds

Our impact on the environment is also a massive topic nowadays. As a result, many people are choosing to look into eco-friendly building options to help them construct their dream home. While there are many that are quite expensive, there are some that could be affordable for the everyday buyer.

For example, an air or ground-source heat pump might be a significant investment when you buy it. However, the help it will give you with your bills over the years could make it worth it. You could also choose to build with an eco-friendly material with something like reclaimed wood or even a partially underground house creating a stunning living space for you to enjoy.

While many architectural trends might seem expensive, there are several ways you can still achieve the look you have been coveting, whatever your budget might be. If you have renovations planned, take a look at some of the latest architectural trends that you could pull from. You never know when you are going to find a style you fall in love with.
