Sony TV to pull the plug on Ekta Kapoor’s Dil Hi Toh Hai

According to reports, Sony Entertainment Television is gearing up to pull the plug on one of its recently launched shows, Dil Hi Toh Hai, starring Karan Kundra and Yogita Bihani as protagonists.

Produced by television empress Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, the show started its run on 18th June, 2018, and is being axed within four months going on-air.

Ekta had launched Dil Hi Toh Hai with much fanfare. There were rumours that it was based on Karan Johar’s all-time blockbuster movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). However, despite being promoted heavily, the show failed to register good ratings and continued to perform poorly on TRP charts.

Reportedly, Dil Hi Toh Hai will beam its last episode next month. “Yes, by next month the show will go off air. Everyone on the sets has been informed about the same, including the cast,” a source close to the development revealed.

If reports are to be believed, Sony Entertainment Television is planning to replace Dil Hi Toh Hai with Ladies Special 2.

An official announcement is awaited though.
