A couple of days ago, there were reports that Shahid Kapoor got injured while he was rehearsing for a scene in the film Jersey. The actor plays the role of a cricketer and before shooting for a scene, Shahid decided to rehearse for it. The ball hit his lower lip and he got a few stitches.

The actor took to Twitter to thank his fans for the concern. He tweeted, “Thank you for all the concern. Yes I have got a few stitches but am recovering fast. #jersey has taken a little bit of my blood but a script this good deserves that in the least. Have a good one you all. Keep it real. Make it count. Spread the love. Humanity above all.”

Shahid was shooting for the film in Mohali but came back to Mumbai last night. He opted to wear a mask on his face to hide his injury. Well, we are sure that Shahid will recover soon and will be back on the sets.

Jersey is a remake of 2019 release Telugu film which had the same name. The original movie starred Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles and Sathyaraj played a pivotal role in the film. Apart from Shahid, the remake stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur.

Jersey is being directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri who had also helmed the original film. The movie is slated to release on 28th August 2020.

This will be Shahid’s second Telugu remake in a row. The actor last year starred in Kabir Singh which was a remake of Telugu movie Arjun Reddy. The movie became a blockbuster at the box office and it is one of the highest-grossing films of 2019. It will surely be interesting to see how Jersey will perform at the box office.
