Shah Rukh Khan acquires Hey Ram remake rights

Seems like superstar Shah Rukh Khan is planning to remake Kamal Haasan’s National award-winning film Hey Ram in Hindi. If not, then why has he bought the remake rights of the movie? Yes, you heard that right! Khan has acquired the remake rights of the 2000 film Hey Ram, which featured him in a cameo appearance. And the big news has been confirmed by none other than Kamal Haasan himself.

"Shah Rukh only got a wristwatch for acting in my film at the time because, by the end of it, I had nothing left in hand. Now, he is the brand ambassador for a watch brand. I am glad that he got the Hindi rights of Hey Ram from Bharat bhai (co-producer Bharat Shah). He should have some memory of the film as he gave his friendship and service for it,” Haasan told to a tabloid.

Hey Ram was written, produced and directed by Kamal Haasan. Besides shouldering all these responsibilities, he also played the lead character in it. Rani Mukerji, Hema Malini, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, and Atul Kulkarni also played important roles in the movie.

After knowing that the Hindi remake rights of the movie lie with SRK, now we are curious to know who he is planning to make the remake with. Aren’t you?
