Sara Ali Khan hopeful about teaming up with father Saif Ali Khan soon

Sara Ali Khan made her silver screen debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath (2018) and proved that acting runs in her blood. Her second film Simmba (2018) came out in the very same year and emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies at the cash counter. Sara did not have any release in 2019. But she is set to kick-off 2020 with a bang as her much-awaited film Love Aaj Kal with eminent filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is just round the corner for its theatrical release.

Love Aaj Kal is a modern-day adaptation of Imtiaz Ali’s own film of the same name, which released in 2009. It had Sara Ali Khan’s father Saif Ali Khan in the lead role opposite Deepika Padukone.

Interestingly, Sara was set to work with her father in the recently released film Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), but she could not be a part of it owing to her busy schedule. Later, the role went to debutante Alaya F. However, she is still open to the idea of starring in a film with her father.

Talking to a publication, Sara Ali Khan said that she is looking forward to working with her father soon. “That will happen. I will hopefully work with my father sometime soon. Not that there is anything in the pipeline, but I expect somebody will come with a project soon,” said the actress.

When asked if she has seen Saif Ali Khan’s Love Aaj Kal, she said, “I have seen it a couple of times. I am a huge fan of Deepika Padukone and Imtiaz Ali. I loved my father’s work too. I like the way Imtiaz portrays his female characters. He does it just beautifully.”

Also starring Kartik Aaryan and Arushi Sharma in lead roles, Love Aaj Kal is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 14th February, 2020.
