Saina Nehwal biopic faces yet another delay?

It is scarcely an exaggeration to say that writer-director Amol Gupte’s much-awaited film Saina is jinxed. The project has been facing one trouble after another ever since it was planned some two years ago.

The latest issue that has plagued the movie is an inordinate delay in its completion. The film, which is a biopic on ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, was poised for its theatrical release in 2019. But as things stand today, the film seems set to get delayed yet again.

According to some reports in media, the first schedule of the film has been postponed until March 2019 and with makers keen to roll the movie in theatres during the holiday period, it seems 2020 is their best bet.

Saina stars Shraddha Kapoor as Saina Nehwal. The actress is presently busy shooting for Prabhas starrer Saaho and filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s next Chhichhore.

As per reports, Kapoor has got a choc-o-block schedule and hence cannot give her dates to the makers of Saina before March 2019.
