Saif Ali Khan signs Soorma, a film by Vishal Bhardwaj?

Saif Ali Khan is inarguably the busiest Bollywood Khan at this point in time. The actor, who released his first film of the year Rangoon in January, has an interesting lineup of films, including Kaalakaandi, Chef and Baazaar, coming up in the next couple of months.

Not just three films, Khan is also doing a web-series called Sacred Games, which will be the first Netflix original series made in India in partnership with Phantom Films.


And now, the news is coming in that the National Award winning actor has signed another film called Soorma. To be produced by Vishal Bhardwaj under his banner VB Pictures, the film will see Saif playing an Afghan warrior.

According to sources, as of now, the makers have just roped in Saif for the movie. The rest of the casting will take some time to get locked. Reportedly, a new director will be entrusted with the responsibility of helming the project.

Noted casting director, Honey Trehaan, who has assisted Vishal Bhardwaj on all his projects, will make his production debut with the movie. Trehaan is also making his directorial debut with another Vishal Bhardwaj film which stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan.

A song shaped by reflection rather than intention

For Dhee, Vari Vari was not born out of a deliberate attempt to move in a new direction. Instead, it arrived during a period of reflection that naturally began influencing the music she was making. Speaking exclusively, the singer described how many of her recent songs have mirrored experiences unfolding in her own life, making them feel more personal than planned.

That emotional undercurrent eventually found its way into Vari Vari. Conversations with lyricist Vivek (Vivek Anna) slowly shaped the track, which grew from discussions around love and human connection. Rather than following a formula, the song evolved organically and became a reflection of thoughts she had already been carrying.
