Ranbir Kapoor to work with Luv Ranjan

After the runaway success of his recent release, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, filmmaker Luv Ranjan has emerged as a force to reckon with in Bollywood. He had already proved his mettle as a director with superhit romcoms like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, but the kind of storm Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety created at the box-office was totally unexpected for a small-budgeted movie that it was.

Buzz has it that Ranbir Kapoor is mighty impressed with the filmmaker and his craft and, if things fall into place, might star in his next directorial. “Both of them are keen to collaborate on a film. Ranjan bounced off the premise of his next to Ranbir who expressed his interest in the project. It is a romantic comedy, along with the lines of Ranjan’s previous comic capers. The script is being developed and if all goes as planned, RK will sign it in August. The film will roll right after he wraps up Brahmastra.”

However, when Ranjan was contacted for a confirmation, he said that nothing has been finalized as yet. “Ranbir and I have met many times. We are keen on working with each other, but nothing has been finalized. I have taken a break from direction and am currently concentrating on production. Soon, I will announce a couple of projects, only after which will I hit the writing board again. There is still time before anything materializes, he said.

Ranbir Kapoor will shortly be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming film Sanju which is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Produced by Rajkumar Hirani Films, Vinod Chopra Films and Fox Star Studios, the movie is slated for a wide release on 29th June 2018.

  • The animated spin-off trades trauma-heavy storytelling for humour, faster pacing and classic monster chaos
  • New character Nikki emerges as one of the franchise’s most interesting additions

Netflix returned to Hawkins before fans had time to miss it

The biggest talking point around Stranger Things: Tales From '85 is not its monsters or animation style, it is its timing.

Netflix has brought viewers back to Hawkins unusually quickly after the finale of Stranger Things split opinion online. For some fans, that makes the spin-off feel rushed. Set shortly after season two, the story takes place before Vecna’s arrival and before Robin Buckley became part of the core group.
