Nikita Dutta joins Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani on the cast of Kabir Singh

Actress Nikita Dutta, who rose to fame after playing the female lead in the Sony Entertainment Television show Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, has been signed on to essay an important role in T-Series Films’ forthcoming movie Kabir Singh.

Headlined by Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, Kabir Singh is an official remake of hit Telugu-language movie Arjun Reddy (2017), one of the most successful films of the year gone by. Its remake mounted the shooting floor in October in Mumbai.

From what we hear portions featuring Nikita will be shot in Mumbai before Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani head off to Delhi and Mussoorie to complete other important sequences. Talking about Dutta’s character in the movie, a source close to the unit says, “Nikita’s character helps Shahid’s Kabir deal with depression after his break-up with girlfriend Preeti”.

Kabir Singh is being helmed by filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also directed the original Telugu film. It is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani.

The film is set to hit screens on 21st May, 2019.
