Nayanthara in talks to pair up with Kamal Haasan

According to reports, popular Tamil actress Nayanthara might bag a film opposite superstar Kamal Haasan. The South Indian film circuit is buzzing with the news that Nayanthara, who was last seen in Jai Simha, is being considered to play the female lead in Haasan's forthcoming film, Indian 2.

Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 National award-winning film Indian which starred Haasan in a dual role. The original film also featured famous Bollywood actresses Urmila Matondkar and Manisha Koirala in key roles.

Reportedly, the makers are currently in touch with Nayanthara. They are working out dates with the actress. If everything goes as planned, Nayanthara will do her first film opposite the superstar.

Indian 2 was supposed to go on floors last year, but since Kamal Haasan was busy with his debut in politics, the project was put on hold. Moreover, Shankar, who directed the original film and has been entrusted with the responsibility of helming the sequel as well, was busy with his sci-fi film 2.0.

Kamal and Shankar will start work on Indian 2 as soon as Shankar's 2.0 arrives in cinemas in April 2018.
