Kartik Aaryan turns down an offer to star in Gustakhiyan!

Gustakhiyan, a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions, is one such project in recent times which hits headlines because of its casting almost every second day. The film has gone through several cast changes in the last few months.

Gustakhiyan will be a biopic showcasing literary giants Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam’s love story to the world.

First, it was being reported that Shah Rukh Khan was approached to play the lead role of poet Sahir Ludhianvi, but he could not sign the project due to other commitments. The role then went to Irrfan Khan, but soon the actor clarified that he was not even approached for the role.

Abhishek Bachchan is the latest actor whose name is being associated with the film and sources confirm that he is very much part of the much talked about project wherein Junior Bachchan plays Sahir Ludhianvi.

Besides the male and female leads, there was another important character in the movie for which Pyaar Ka Punchnama fame Kartik Aaryan was approached. But fresh reports claim that the actor turned down the offer when the film was still being made with Priyanka Chopra as the female lead.

According to an industry insider, “Along with Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam’s characters, there is another parallel lead — one who plays Pritam’s husband in the film. That was offered to Kartik Aaryan, but he couldn’t accommodate the dates since he’s shooting for Luv Ranjan’s next and so had to let it go.”

It seems Sanjay Leela Bhansali is really having a hard luck in finalizing the cast for his ambitious project. After so much of pain, he had somehow locked the male lead for the movie. But with Priyanka and Kartik not doing the project, the filmmaker will have to begin his hunt again.
