Karan Johar casts Janhvi Kapoor opposite Varun Dhawan

The audience loves watching fresh pairings onscreen and who knows this better than Dharma Productions’ head Karan Johar. In a bid to offer something new to his audience, KJo has reportedly cast newcomer Janhvi Kapoor opposite Varun Dhawan in one of his forthcoming production venture, Rannbhoomi.

Rannbhoomi, which is a war period drama set to be mounted on a huge scale, is being helmed by Shashank Khaitan who has directed Janhvi in her debut vehicle Dhadak. A source reveals, "Shashank and Karan Johar wanted a new jodi for the film. They felt Janhvi would be a perfect fit.”

If Kapoor is indeed a part of the upcoming flick, it will mark her second association with Khaitan, while it will be her third film with Johar, after Dhadak and the forthcoming historical saga Takht.

Rannbhoomi is expected to start rolling in May 2019, because before starting work on the big-ticket period drama movie, Shashank will direct an espionage thriller for Dharma Productions.

More details on the project are awaited.
