Jawaani Jaaneman to now release in 2020

After Lal Kaptaan (2019), Saif Ali Khan was set to grace the silver screen with his next film Jawaani Jaaneman. However, the audience will have to wait a little longer for the film as its release date has been postponed. Earlier slated to enter theatres on 29th November, 2019, Jawaani Jaaneman has now been shifted to 2020.

The movie, directed by Nitin Kakkar, stars Saif Ali Khan in the role of a 40-year-old father. It revolves around the relationship between a father and his teenage daughter. The movie marks the acting debut of former model and actress Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia Furniturewalla who plays the character of Khan’s daughter in Jawaani Jaaneman.

The audience was really looking forward to watching Alaia as she has already become an internet sensation with her hot pictures setting Instagram on fire. However, the sudden change in the release date of the film has left the audience disappointment. However, it is reported that the makers took the decision of deferring the release following a new addition in the movie.

“The director needs to shoot a promotional song for the film with Saif that also requires him to don a particular look. However, Saif is currently shooting for his next web-series Tandav and has a packed schedule. Because of this, the movie has been pushed from November 29,” a source in the know informs an entertainment portal.

Although an official announcement about the postponement is yet to be made, it is expected that the makers will soon announce the new release date of the film. Apart from Saif Ali Khan and Alaia Furniturewalla, Jawaani Jaaneman also stars seasoned actress Tabu in a brief but important role. Saif and Tabu will be reuniting on screen after two decades as the duo was last seen in the 1999 family drama Hum Saath Saath Hain.

You arrive in Kochi, and it feels like the sea air makes everything slightly sharper; faces in the city look purposeful, a film poster peels at the corner of a wall. In a city that has cradled a thriving film industry for decades, a single crime on the night of 17 February 2017 ruptured the ordinary: an abduction, a recorded sexual assault and a survivor who reported it the next day. What happened next is every woman’s unspoken nightmare, weaponised into brutal reality. It was a public unpeeling of an industry’s power structures, a slow-motion fight over evidence and testimony, and a national debate about how institutions protect (or fail) women.

For over eight years, her fight for justice became a mirror held up to an entire industry and a society. It was a journey from the dark confines of that car to the glaring lights of a courtroom, from being a silenced victim to becoming a defiant survivor whose voice sparked a revolution. This is not just the story of a crime. It is the story of what happens when one woman says, "Enough," and the tremors that follow.
