Is Salman Khan planning to release Wanted 2 on Eid 2020?

A couple of days ago, superstar Salman Khan surprised everyone by announcing that his much-awaited film Inshallah will not release on Eid 2020. He also informed through social media that he will arrive with another film on the same date instead.

Ever since the announcement of Inshallah being put on the backburner was made, there have been rumours of Khan’s Kick 2 being lined-up for release on Eid 2020. However, filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala denied the rumours, saying the sequel is still at the writing-table and he will be ready with the final draft of the script by Eid next year.

After Sajid Nadiadwala cleared the air about the status of Kick 2 for once and for all, rumours have now emerged that Salman Khan is planning to release a sequel to his megahit Wanted (2009) on Eid. Directed by Prabhudeva and produced by Boney Kapoor, Wanted was an out-and-out action entertainer which is believed to have revived Salman Khan’s career after a series of duds.

Wanted was also an Eid release. Now Salman is planning to bring Wanted 2 on Eid next year. A source told a publication, “Sallu thinks it will be a good idea to revisit the gangster drama after a decade. This was his first Eid release and he has kept his date with the audience ever since.”

Incidentally, the helmer of the original film is currently busy directing the actor on their hugely anticipated Christmas release Dabangg 3. It will be interesting to see whether or not the duo can come up with a sequel to blockbuster hit Wanted in such a short time.
