India offers to treat Afghan refugee Sharbat Gula

AFGHAN woman Sharbat Gula, whose photograph on a National Geographic magazine cover made her famous and who was deported from Pakistan a few days ago, will travel to India soon for medical treatment. Gula, whose picture by Steve McCurry in 1984 showed her with piercing green eyes, was removed from Pakistan and sent back to Afghanistan last Wednesday (9) on charges of falsifying identity papers.
