I find happiness in discovering the most mundane of life, says "Bareilly Ki Barfi" helmer, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

After directing a slice-of-life film "Nil Battey Sannata" in 2016, filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is now gearing up for the release of her next directorial, titled "Bareilly Ki Barfi". Toplined by Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon, the film is a romantic comedy based in Uttar Pradesh.

Just like her first film "Nil Battey Sannata", which was set in Agra, her second directorial is also based in a small town of U.P.

On being asked if she has a penchant for weaving her stories around small towns, Ashwiny says, "I kind of like the whole rustic culture. It may also be because it gives you more freedom of creativity in terms of colours, textures and characters. I find happiness in discovering the most mundane of life. I enjoying doing such kind of stories. But that does not stop me from exploring other areas. Of course, I want to explore other areas also. But I will always stay away from Mumbai (laughs) unless the story is based in Bombay and I cannot go out to make it."

Ashwiny is the wife of well-known director Nitesh Tiwari, who shot to fame after directing Aamir Khan in "Dangal". He has co-written the film with Shreyas Jain. When we asked Ashwiny if Nitesh was involved just in writing or he helped her in other areas also, she says, Nitesh was officially involved only at the writing stage, not otherwise. It's obvious that if two people of similar background stay at home, it's certain they are going to discuss things. It's like two doctors stay at home together, but the surgery has to be done differently."

Produced by Junglee Pictures and BR studios, "Bareilly Ki Barfi" is slated to release on 18th August.

Gambhir avoids comment on 2027 World Cup future of Kohli and Rohit
