Hrithik Roshan reacts to the resounding success of War

Toplined by Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor, Yash Raj Films’ latest offering War has inflamed the domestic box-office. The movie, which entered theatres on 2nd October, opened to astounding numbers and emerged as the biggest opener of Hindi cinema to date, smashing the record of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s period drama Thugs of Hindostan (2018).

Reacting to the earth-shattering opening of the action entertainer, Hrithik Roshan said at the success bash of the film, "It is a milestone. But as I have been taught very well that do not count the chickens before they all hatch. A few of them have hatched and a few milestones are left. So, I am really happy as it is absolutely incredible but the real celebration of this film has actually been its journey and the experience of working with the War team. Today, I feel relieved and a little love and warmth and I feel connected to the audience."

The superstar, whose previous release Super 30 (2019) also did a phenomenal business at the box-office, added, “I am lucky that I had films that I was so empowered by. I felt so much love and passion for both the films (Super 30 and War). I guess after those I feel very, very encouraged. From now I am going to set my benchmark even higher.”

War has been a special film for Tiger Shroff as it gave him an opportunity to star alongside his idol Hrithik Roshan. “The day I got to know that I am doing a two-hero film with Hrithik, I said there is no bigger opportunity than this. He is somebody I look up to. It was very easy in a way for me to relate to my character because my character looks up to his character in the film as well, so it is a genuine feeling and I did it as honestly as I could,” said Shroff.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, War is directed by Siddharth Anand.
