Divyendu Sharma may work with Ayushmann Khurrana in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

Last seen in Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018), actor Divyendu Sharma is rumoured to be joining hands with extremely talented Ayushmann Khurrana. Buzz has it that the actor has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Aanand L Rai’s next production venture, titled Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.

For the uninitiated, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a sequel to Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) and centres on an LGBT themed plot, wherein Ayushmann Khurrana plays a homosexual man. According to reports, Divyendu Sharma might be seen as his love interest in the movie. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

We have also learnt that Sharma was not the official choice for the role. Before him, the makers had approached Rajkummar Rao, who previously worked with Ayushmann Khurrana on Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). However, Rao reportedly turned down the offer because he felt that Khurrana had a better role in the flick.

Meanwhile, Divyendu Sharma is reportedly shooting for Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur 2. The digital show is being produced by Excel Entertainment and may start streaming towards the end of the year or early 2020.
