Disney+ Hotstar drops the trailer of Lara Dutta and Rinku Rajguru starrer series Hundred

Former Miss World and actress Lara Dutta is set to make her digital debut with an upcoming webseries, titled Hundred. Joining her on the cast of the Disney+ Hotstar series will be actress Rinku Rajput who shot to overnight fame after the humongous success of her debut Marathi film Sairat in 2016.

Today, the makers dropped the trailer of the comedy-action series, which went on to amass millions of digital views in no time. Hundred is slated to stream on Disney+ Hotstar VIP from April 25. Karan Wahi, Sudhanshu Pandey, Parmeet Sethi, Rohini Hattangadi, Arun Nalawde and Makarand Deshpande also features on the ensemble cast of the series.

Talking about the plotline of Hundred, the series features Rinku Rajput as Netra Patil, a girl with dreams of visiting Switzerland. However, her life comes crashing down around her when she finds out that she is suffering from a life-threatening disease and has only 100 days to live.

Netra is soon hired as an undercover agent by ACP Saumya Sharma, played by Lara Dutta. Though Saumya desires to be like James Bond, she is treated like an “item girl” in the male-dominated police force.

Talking about Hundred, Lara said in a statement, “One of the many reasons I chose to do the show is because I have never played a cop on screen and my character is trying hard to survive in a man’s world. She has very interesting dynamics with the people in her life and the more complex a situation, the more she thrives. She is nothing like me in real life.”

Rinku said in her statement, “Hundred is my first-ever digital show and it has been a great experience working. This medium is on boom right now and is one of the major sources of entertainment for most of us in these trying times.”

Hundred is an eight episodes long series directed by Ruchi Narain, Ashutosh Shah and Taher Shabbir.

Two Sinners marks Samir Zaidi’s striking directorial debut

Samir Zaidi, director of 'Two Sinners', emerges as a powerful new voice in Indian film

Indian cinema has a long tradition of discovering new storytellers in unexpected places, and one recent voice that has attracted quiet, steady attention is Samir Zaidi. His debut short film Two Sinners has been travelling across international festivals, earning strong praise for its emotional depth and moral complexity. But what makes Zaidi’s trajectory especially compelling is how organically it has unfolded — grounded not in film school training, but in lived observation, patient apprenticeships and a deep belief in the poetry of everyday life.

Zaidi’s relationship with creativity began well before he ever stepped onto a set. “As a child, I was fascinated by small, fleeting things — the way people spoke, the silences between arguments, the patterns of light on the walls,” he reflects. He didn’t yet have the vocabulary for what he was absorbing, but the instinct was already in place. At 13, he turned to poetry, sensing that the act of shaping emotions into words offered a kind of clarity he couldn’t find elsewhere. “I realised creativity wasn’t something external I had to chase; it was a way of processing the world,” he says. “Whether it was writing or filmmaking, it came from the same impulse: to make sense of what I didn’t fully understand.”
