Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon starrer Arjun Patiala struggles for release?

Finding a solo release date is getting tougher day by day because apart from big Hollywood releases, a major chunk of screens is also allotted for regional movies. Filmmaker Dinesh Vijan and Rohit Jugraj are facing the same problem as they are finding it difficult to provide a better release window to their much-anticipated film Arjun Patiala.

“The market is getting tougher. Even regional films are getting a huge number of screens these days, and the number of single-screen theatres is dwindling. It’s not just Arjun Patiala, but many films that are suffering because of this. They are releasing with as many screens as they can get,” a source explains.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma, Arjun Patiala was earlier scheduled to release on 13th September. However, its release was later pushed to February 2019. But the makers are not sure about releasing their movie in February because over half a dozen big films are also lined up for release in the same month.

“February 2019 has films like Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sonchiraiya, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga and Gully Boy among other films. Given the current scenario, it could be the best month for them, but the release won’t be as big as a Patiala Peg,” the source adds.
