Deepika requests SLB to give her Jauhar outfit from Padmaavat

Deepika Padukone has worked with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in three films and every time the duo comes together, they create sheer magic on celluloid. Padukone accepts that their latest film Padmaavat has been the most challenging project she has ever done in her career so far. However, she is happy that her hard work has paid off well. The actress has been receiving an overwhelming response for her stellar performance in the period drama ever since its release.

The much-talked-about Jauhar sequence, which was a major highlight of the historical saga, was the most difficult part for Deepika. No wonder, the actress recently reached out to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and requested him to give her the outfit that she had worn for the climax scene as a remembrance. The actress wants to treasure it for life.

Padmaavat, in its entirety, has been a journey that will stay with me forever. The climax sequence, especially, has been the most intense, challenging and memorable scene I have ever done. And to commemorate those moments, I’ve requested Sanjay sir if I could keep the outfit that I wore," Deepika Padukone says.

Talking about the historic success of the movie, Padmaavat has become the first non-Khan starrer in the much publicised INR 300 crore club. It is also Deepika Padukone's 7th entry in the elite INR 100 crore club and her hat-trick in the INR 200 crore club.

Also starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, Padmaavat hit the silver screen on 25th January 2018.

Imtiaz Ali exclusive interview: 'Many things you do as a filmmaker are subconscious'

There’s a peculiar magic in the way Imtiaz Ali speaks: soft, measured, and thoughtful, like someone tuned in to the quieter corners of the human experience. Few storytellers chart that emotional topography of longing quite like him. In his world, love is rarely convenient, and home is more a feeling than a place. So, it feels almost inevitable that his latest creative chapter plays out in My Melbourne, an anthology that threads together themes of race, migration, identity, and emotional displacement through a diasporic lens.

The irony of home in Jules

Ali’s segment, Jules, explores an unlikely friendship between two women: one a newlywed food blogger recently arrived in Melbourne, the other a woman living on the streets. “Belonging is such a tricky thing,” he says. “You’ve got to belong to somebody before they belong to you.”
