Bollywood actors who portrayed the role of a journalist on the big screen

Bollywood actors play different characters on the big screen and those different characters have different professions.  Mostly we see that either the actors are cops, doctors, teachers or businessman, but there’s also one profession that many actors have explored on the big screen and that is of a journalist.

So, here’s the list of the actors who played the role of a journalist on the big screen and impressed us with their performance…


Shah Rukh Khan / Juhi Chawla – Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani

Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, one of the most loved jodis of the 90s starred together in Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which released in 2000. SRK and Juhi played the role of journalists from rival channels, but how they come together to get justice for an innocent man who has been accused of being a terrorist.

Konkona Sen Sharma – Page 3

Madhur Bhandarkar’s Page 3 brought the life of an entertainment journalist on the big screen. Konkona Sen Sharma made her Bollywood debut with this film and impressed one and all. Page 3 is also clearly one of the best films of Madhur.

Rani Mukerji – No One Killed Jessica / Bombay Talkies

Rani Mukerji is one of the most talented actresses that we have in Bollywood. Her character of journalist Meera in No One Killed Jessica is undoubtedly one of the best characters written in Bollywood for a female lead. Rani, as usual, did a fantastic job in the film. She once again played a journalist in anthology Bombay Talkies.

Amitabh Bachchan – Rann

Amitabh Bachchan is one actor who has mostly portrayed all the professions on the big screen. In 2010 release Rann the megastar played the role of a man who runs a news channel and is a former journalist.

Anil Kapoor – Nayak  

Nayak is one of the best films made on political dramas made in Bollywood. But before turning a politician, Anil Kapoor in the film plays the role of a journalist and he did justice to the character. The scene where he interviews the CM of the State, played by Amrish Puri, is the highlight of the film.

Sonakshi Sinha – Noor

Noor is one of the most underrated films of Bollywood and one of the most underrated performances of Sonakshi Sinha. The actress played the role of a journalist in the film who thinks with her heart and not with her mind.

Kareena Kapoor Khan – Satyagraha

Kareena Kapoor Khan played a hard-headed journalist in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha. Kareena’s performance received thumbs up from the critics and even audiences liked her a lot.
