Batti Gul Meter Chalu locks a release date!

After the smashing success of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh is all set to take his next film Batti Gul Meter Chalu on floors very soon. Meanwhile, the makers of the social-drama have unveiled the release date of the movie.

Starring Shahid Kapoor as the leading man, Batti Gul Meter Chalu will hit screens on 31st August 2018, on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.


"With T-Series, we celebrate Janmashtami with Batti Gul Meter Chalu... this Shahid Kapoor starrer, directed by Shree Narayan Singh to release on 31st Aug 2018," tweeted the official twitter handle of KriArj Entertainment.

Shahid Kapoor had earlier announced the film on the auspicious occasion of Diwali when he took to Twitter and shared, "Let's celebrate the festival of light with the wish that soon electricity will be a right and not a privilege for all."

Batti Gul Meter Chalu revolves around a common man's fight against power distribution companies. Shahid reportedly essays the character of a lawyer, who raises his voice against power distribution firms.
