Author John Green is excited about Bollywood adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars

Author John Green is super thrilled about the Bollywood adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars.

After news surfaced that actress Sanjana Sanghi has been roped in to play the lead in The Fault In Our Stars, Green took to Twitter to say:“I can’t believe this is happening. Amazing!”

The shoot of the movie will begin in mid 2018 and Sanghi will be paired with Sushant Singh Rajput.

The Hollywood adaptation of Green's novel features Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. The book talks about the love story of two terminally ill teens. It is not immediately known how closely the Bollywood version, which will have music from A. R. Rahman, will follow the book.

Shailene also took to Twitter to share news of the Bollywood remake, writing "okay? @AnselElgort okay ;)" and her co-star reacted saying they should watch the movie together.

Besides being the lead actress in The Fault In Our Stars, Woodley is also one of the book's original fans. Long before she was locked in for the role of Hazel Grace, Woodley had written to Green urging for The Fault In Our Stars  to become a movie.
"I didn't say I needed to be Hazel," Woodley said at the movie's New York premiere in 2014. "I said I needed this movie to get made. Because I knew that it would change the lives of millions of people."
Green spoke about the letter and said it was an extremely long one.
"The letter was extremely long, like 40 pages long, and ... I didn't technically know who Shailene Woodley was," he said. "So I just responded like, 'That's such a lovely e-mail! Thank you so much! But I am not a casting director.' And then when I saw her audition, of course I was horrified that I had not written her back and said, like, 'Please! Please! Be in our movie!'"
