Atlee confirms directing Shah Rukh Khan in his next

Shah Rukh Khan’s last film Zero hit the marquee in December, 2018. It has been close to a year since the Aanand L Rai directorial made its entry into cinemas, but the superstar is yet to announce his next film as the leading man.

Over the past few months, his name has been associated with a number of projects from Farah Khan’s next to the third instalment of Excel Entertainment’s Don franchise. However, every time a rumour cropped up, the superstar came forward and rubbished it.

Speculations were rife lately that Shah Rukh Khan might collaborate with well-known South Indian filmmaker Atlee for a project. However, there was no confirmation from either Khan or Atlee. But if latest reports are to be believed, the project is indeed in the offing.

At an event held to promote Atlee’s upcoming Diwali release, Bigil, fellow director Harish Shankar was also in attendance. While talking about Bigil, he also ended up spilling beans on Atlee’s next with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

He said at the grand event, “The news is coming out. I don’t know how immediately it is going to happen but I am praying to all the Gods to make it happen that Atlee sir is going to direct King Khan (aka) SRK. Being a huge fan of SRK, I am waiting for this combo so that I can also come for that function and see SRK. I am a huge fan of King Khan.”

In reply, Atlee just smiled which kind of confirmed that his next project with Shah Rukh Khan is indeed happening. According to reports, Khan will formally announce the film on his birthday on 2nd November. More details are awaited.
