Ajay Devgn & Rohit Shetty join forces for Golmaal Five

If one talks about one of the most successful comedy franchises of Bollywood, the top slot would go to Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal franchise. The series, which began with Golmaal in 2006, has seen the release of four successful parts so far. And now, after the massive success of the previous four instalments, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have confirmed their return with the fifth part of the franchise, titled Golmaal Five.

Speaking about the upcoming Golmaal film, Ajay Devgn said in a statement, “Rohit and I have discussed and are committed to doing our next instalment of Golmaal. The franchise is not only the longest-running one in Hindi cinema, it also happens to be one of my favourites because like we said in one of our earliest films in this series, it’s fun unlimited.”

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is presently busy with his forthcoming directorial venture Sooryavanshi. The cop drama features superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Right after wrapping up Sooryavanshi, the filmmaker is expected to announce the cast and title of his upcoming production venture with Farah Khan. Shetty is also launching a few debutant filmmakers who have been his associates before.

We hear that the script of Golmaal Five is already locked and Rohit Shetty will start shooting for it after he completes his upcoming production ventures. With the upcoming instalment, Golmaal will become the first Bollywood franchise to have five films under its belt. Shetty and Devgn have successfully delivered on 10 films in the past and are equally excited about their upcoming offering.

Produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Reliance Entertainment, Golmaal Five may hit theatres in 2021.
