Aditi Seiya cast to play Sanjay Dutt’s sister in his biopic!

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his forthcoming film, a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, turns out to be a grand affair upon its release. The director has been working tirelessly on the film for more than a year now. He is currently busy completing the last leg of shooting.

The latest we hear that Hirani has roped in South Indian actress, Aditi Seiya, to play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s sister, Priya Dutt. The actress has done a couple of films down south. Sanjay Dutt biopic will mark her big foray into Bollywood.


Sanjay Dutt biopic stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. Besides Kapoor, the big budget film also features Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal in important roles.

Manisha Koirala plays Nargis Dutt in the movie, while Dia Mirza will be seen as Sanjay Dutt’s current wife Maanyata Dutt. Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play the character of the girl Sanjay once dated. Karishma Tanna also plays one of Dutt’s love interests. Anushka Sharma essays the character of a journalist. Seasoned actor Paresh Rawal has been cast to play the role of Sunil Dutt. With Seiya’s entry, the cast of the film looks almost complete.

Sanjay Dutt biopic is scheduled to release on 30th March 2018.

Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
