Top performances in the first half of 2019

2019 is clearly running quite fast as already the first half of the year is over. From January 2019 to June 2019, Bollywood offered us some really good films. Apart from content, one of the most important elements in a film is the actors. Sometimes a good film doesn’t impress if the performance in it is not good and sometimes a bad film has some amazing performances in it.

Today, let’s look at the actors who gave some fantastic performance on the big screen in the first half of 2019…

Vicky Kaushal – Uri: The Surgical Strike

We have to start with Vicky Kaushal. The actor played the role of an army officer in Uri: The Surgical Strike and nailed it. Vicky clearly gave the best performance of his career in the film and Uri: The Surgical Strike got him in the big league.

Sonam Kapoor – EK Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

First of all hats off to Sonam Kapoor for taking up a role not many mainstream actresses would like to do. Sonam played a lesbian character in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and carried the role wonderfully. She successfully made us feel the pain her character Sweety was going through.

Ranveer Singh – Gully Boy

Ranveer Singh was fantastic in Gully Boy. He proved that he is one of the most versatile actors we have in the industry. He can pull off a Simmba, a Khlji and even a Murad. We wonder if there is any role that Ranveer can’t do, maybe there’s no such character.

Sunny Deol – Blank

Sunny Deol starrer Blank went unnoticed at the box office. But the film got good reviews and Sunny Deol’s performance was the highlight of the film. We got to see the actor in a zone that we always liked him in. His angry man avatar was a treat for his fans.

Tabu – De De Pyaar De

Tabu is one actress from the early 90s who is still around making a mark, and also starring as a lead, giving the young actresses a run for their money. She doesn’t need to prove her mettle as an actor, but with every film, Tabu is surprising us. With her performance in a rom-com like De De Pyaar De, Tabu once again impressed us. By the way, even that one scene of her in Bharat was very impactful.

Taapsee Pannu – Game Over / Badla

Last year, while she gave some fantastic performances in films like Mulk and Manmarziyaan, this year Taapsee in the first six months itself has given two mind-blowing performances. We are talking about her act in movies like Badla and Game Over. What a talented actress she is!
