Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate are facing 21 criminal charges in the United Kingdom, including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed the charges, which were authorised in 2024 following an investigation by Bedfordshire Police.
Andrew Tate, 38, a British-American former kickboxer and influencer, has been charged with 10 offences involving three alleged victims. These include rape, human trafficking, actual bodily harm, and controlling prostitution for gain. His younger brother Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one alleged victim, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm.
The CPS stated that it had authorised the charges before an extradition request was submitted to bring the brothers back from Romania. However, prosecutors noted that legal proceedings in Romania must be concluded before any extradition to the UK can take place.
The Tate brothers, who moved from the United States to Luton in the UK as children after their parents divorced, have been under investigation in Romania since 2022. They were arrested in Bucharest in December 2022. At that time, Andrew was accused of rape and human trafficking, while Tristan was suspected of human trafficking. Both denied the allegations and were placed under house arrest for several months.
In August 2024, Romanian prosecutors announced further charges, including allegations of sex with a minor and trafficking underage individuals. These too were denied by the brothers.
In March 2024, they were detained again after UK authorities issued an arrest warrant linked to offences allegedly committed in the UK between 2012 and 2015. At the time, both Andrew and Tristan Tate stated they "categorically reject all charges" and described themselves as “very innocent men”.
Although a Romanian court approved their extradition to the UK, it stipulated that the process could only proceed once the criminal matters in Romania were resolved. Following this, the brothers were released from custody, and a two-year travel ban was unexpectedly lifted in early 2025.
They travelled to Florida, USA, by private jet in February 2025 before returning to Romania in March. Upon arrival, they told reporters they were not fleeing justice and were committed to proving their innocence. They also formally registered with Bucharest authorities, a legal requirement for individuals under investigation.
Andrew Tate, known for his controversial social media presence and self-described misogynist views, has amassed millions of followers by promoting a lavish lifestyle of cars, jets, and luxury properties. Despite the growing list of allegations, he and his brother continue to deny all charges in both Romania and the UK.
The CPS has made it clear that extradition will not proceed until Romanian legal proceedings are completed. No timeline has been provided for when the brothers could be brought before a UK court.
A BRITISH Indian charity is building a sports and community complex in west London to strengthen local cultural ties. The project, known as the India Gardens Sports and Community Complex, is being developed by Shree Kutch Leva Patel Community (SKLPC) UK and is scheduled to open in June 2027, a statement said.
The 18-acre site in Northolt, valued at £1.1 million, has been designed as a modern hub for education, sport and social activities.
Approved by the Ealing council in 2018, it is one of the largest community-led developments of its kind in the area.
Once complete, India Gardens will provide 34,000 sq ft of internal facilities, including a cricket pavilion, sports hall, nursery, members’ lounge and multi-purpose spaces for weddings, exhibitions and cultural gatherings, the statement added. Outdoor areas will feature landscaped gardens, walking routes and sports fields.
SKLPC UK said the centre will serve both its 25,000 members from London and beyond, and it will also open its doors to schools, clubs and residents.
It described India Gardens as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to celebrate shared roots, while creating a space for learning and recreation.
Founded in 1972 by members of the Kutch Leva Patel community, SKLPC UK began as a group of migrants who met to preserve their traditions and mutual support networks.
The organisation opened its first Samaj Hall in West Hendon in 1980 and now operates centres in Bolton, Oldham, Cardiff and London. Over the decades, SKLPC UK has combined cultural work with philanthropy, raising more than £1.75m for disaster relief and charitable causes, including more than £1m for victims of the 2001 Bhuj earthquake in Gujarat. It continues to promote education and welfare initiatives such as its Saturday school and the Vadil Sammelan, launched in 2024 to support senior citizens.
The India Gardens project symbolises its commitment to community service and intergeneration engagement in Britain, the charity said.
