Sparkhill stabbing: Victim named as Hashim Khan

A MAN who was brutally stabbed to death in an incident in Sparkhill on Friday night (23) has been named as Hashim Khan.

The 37-year-old dad was pronounced dead after being discovered in Wilton Road, Sparkhill.

On Friday night, officers were called to reports of disorder at an address on Wilton Road. The incident reportedly involved men who knew each other. A 35-year-old man with stab wounds was found in the property and he remains in serious condition. Three other men, two in their 30s and one in their 40s, suffered injuries that were not serious.

Paying tribute to Khan, his family said: “Hashim was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother and friend.

"He touched the lives of many who knew him. He was the backbone in our family.

“We are out of our minds with grief, we are shattered, broken and can barely speak to anyone. We thank everyone for their kind words and condolences.

“At this moment in time we would like as a family to be left alone to come to terms with our loss and grieve in peace.”

A 32-year-old man who was detained on suspicion of murder is currently being treated in hospital for hand injuries.
