Sony TV to axe Paridhi Sharma & Aniruddh Dave’s characters in Patiala Babes

If you are an avid watcher of Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Patiala Babes, here is an important piece of news for you all. According to reports, the makers have decided to axe actors Paridhi Sharma and Aniruddh Dave’s characters from the show.

Yes, both the actors will no longer be a part of the popular series after the upcoming generation leap. Reportedly, Patiala Babes is undergoing a five-year leap. After the generation leap, the entire focus will shift on Ashnoor Kaur’s character in the show.

When actress Paridhi Sharma was contacted, she confirmed the development. “In any case, I was not satisfied with the way my track was shaping up. It started off as a strong and inspiring character, but the storyline digressed and my character started slipping around two months ago. I never wanted to play mother to a teenager, but I took up the show for my role. I am glad that I am not a part of the leap, as there was nothing in it for me to explore. Had they not decided to end my track, I would have exited the show myself. It is just that it has happened the other way round,” said the actress who shot to fame after playing the lead character of Jodhabai in Ekta Kapoor’s historical show Jodha Akbar.

Actor Aniruddh Dave added, “I believe that every show goes through a change after it reaches a saturation point. I am happy that my character Hanuman Singh was loved, as he was someone who believed in women’s equality and rights.”

Produced by Katha Kottage Production, Patiala Babes premiered on 27 November 2018 on Sony Entertainment Television. It received warm response from the audience and has been doing well on TRP charts ever since.

The John Lewis Christmas advert has dropped, and with it, the unofficial start of Christmas in the UK. The 2025 John Lewis film Where Love Lives drops the fairytale stuff. No mascots this time. Just a dad and his teenage son, a bit of distance between them.

It’s all shot inside an ordinary home, wrapping paper scattered across the floor. The son’s got his headphones on, half present. The father’s picking up after the morning chaos, looking tired. He spots a small box still under the tree, a vinyl record of Where Love Lives, Alison Limerick’s 90s club track.
