Sonam Kapoor & Anand Ahuja to venture into film production?

If the latest media reports are to be believed, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is branching out to film production. Yes, you heard that absolutely right! The actress, who was last seen in Abhishek Sharma’s The Zoya Factor (2019), is apparently joining hands with husband Anand Ahuja in bankrolling a film in 2021.

“Sonam has so far been partnering in her sister Rhea Kapoor’s production house. That partnership will continue. But Sonam also wants to collaborate with her husband Anand over movie productions,” a source close to the development informs an entertainment portal.

Reportedly, Anand Ahuja was initially expected to come onboard Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor’s Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network and produce films jointly. However, the couple now may just go ahead separately and launch a new production house. An official confirmation is highly awaited though.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor has reportedly no film in her pocket. She has not given her nod to any project after the dismal performance of her last release The Zoya Factor. Also starring southern superstar Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, the much-publicised movie was expected to boost Kapoor’s career after her earlier release Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019) bombed at the box-office. But who knew that The Zoya Factor would meet the similar fate at the ticket window!

Though Sonam Kapoor’s name has been linked to a couple of projects over the past one year, nothing is official at the moment. We hope the actress goes on to announce her next venture soon.
