Shah Rukh Khan on taking a break: I said to myself that let me enjoy a little bit of un-success

Shah Rukh Khan is the King Khan of Bollywood. He has a huge fan following not only in India but also internationally. However, his last few releases have failed to make a mark at the box office. SRK was last seen on the big screen in 2018 release Zero which was a flop and after that film, he has not yet signed any new movie.

The actor is currently in Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. While talking about what makes him do a film, SRK said at the film festival, “What drives me to do a film is the people around me who make such a great cinema... And I think I have a huge amount of capacity to do some really good cinema. I have 20-25 years of good cinema left in me.”

SRK went on to reveal that after Zero he decided to take a break. He said, "I just finished the last film I made and to put it lightly, it was a disaster. I said to myself that let me enjoy a little bit of un-success as I had success for so long. So I have taken some time off for the next four or five months. As a matter of fact, I’m on these breaks... Coming here (Melbourne) and meeting people, realising and discovering new stories, doing intellectual speaking.”

A couple of months ago, while talking about why he is not signing any film, the actor had said, "Usually what happens is when your one film is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and I get involved within 3-4 months. But this time I am just not feeling like. My heart doesn't allow me to. I just felt that I should rather take time out, watch films, listen to stories and read more books. Even my kids are in their college stage...my daughter is going to college and my son is about to finish his studies. So I just want to spend more time with my family.”

While SRK has not yet officially announced his next movie, there have been reports that he would collaborate with Rajkumar Hirani for a film.

  • The AI company argues internal records could support its defence in the ongoing copyright case.
  • The studios say the lawsuit is about protecting copyrighted characters, not preventing the development of AI.

Midjourney has argued that the Hollywood studios suing it over copyright infringement may be using artificial intelligence in ways similar to those at the centre of the legal dispute, as it seeks broader access to their internal AI records.

In a new court filing, the AI image-generation company asked for Disney, Universal and Warner Bros. to produce more documents during the discovery process, saying the material could strengthen its defence.
