Sara Ali Khan confirmed to star opposite Ranveer Singh in Simmba

Sara Ali Khan has been in the news for her Bollywood debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Kedarnath. But now, the buzz is that the makers have roped in Sara to star opposite Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. As the fans are curious to see Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao in the film, the news of Sara starring in the film has raised their curiosity even more.

Dharma Productions released a statement confirming the news. The statement read, “After the release of the first poster which featured Ranveer Singh, there was immense curiosity on who would be cast as the film’s female lead. Now it’s confirmed. Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar have signed Sara Ali Khan for the film, which will be directed by Rohit. Sara will be seen opposite Ranveer, who plays the role of a notorious cop Sangram Bhalerao.”

Earlier, talking about Simmba, Rohit Shetty had said to a leading Indian daily, “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham.”

Speaking about his role in Simmba, Ranveer Singh had said to IANS, “Sangram Bhale Rao aka Simmba… He is a cop in the film. I am really very excited about collaborating with Rohit Shetty, more than anyone else. He is the king of masala films, which are loved more than any other films. So this is something I believe I was born to do and I am looking forward to it.”

Sara Ali Khan is currently occupied with the shoot of Kedarnath, which is slated to release on December 28, 2018. Interestingly, if the release dates of Simmba and Kedarnath are unaffected then Sara will have two releases in the span of one week.
