RIP Rishi Kapoor: Memorable films of the veteran actor

Yesterday, one of the most talented actors of Bollywood Irrfan Khan left us and this morning we got one more sad news that veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away. He was undoubtedly one of the best actors we had in the industry, and 2020 marks his 50 years in Bollywood.

In these 50 years, Rishi Kapoor entertained us with his amazing performances. Today, as he is no more with us, let’s look at the list of some of his most memorable films…


Mera Naam Joker

Rishi Kapoor made his Bollywood debut as a child artist in the film Mera Naam Joker. His cuteness in the film stole everyone’s heart and he received a National Award for his performance in the movie.

Bobby

As an adult, the actor’s first film was 1973 release Bobby, a love story set against the backdrop of caste and class differences. The movie was a super hit and Rishi Kapoor became a star.

Laila Majnu

In 1976, Rishi Kapoor starred in Laila Majnu and gave a fantastic performance as Majnu in the film. The movie had some amazing dialogues that we will remember forever.

Amar Akbar Anthony

In Amar Akbar Anthony, Rishi Kapoor played the role of Akbar and impressed one and all. We cannot forget the songs Tayyab Ali Pyar Ka Dushman and Parda Hai Parda from the film. His chemistry with Neetu Singh was one of the highlights of the movie.

Karz

When we talk about the reincarnation movies in Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor starrer Karz is the first one that comes to our mind. Directed by Subhash Ghai, Karz is undoubtedly one of the best films of Rishi Kapoor.

Prem Rog

While Rishi Kapoor was a big star, he also did movies that spoke about socially relevant issues. In 1982, he starred in a movie titled Prem Rog which was set against the backdrop of widow remarriage.

Naseeb Apna Apna

Rishi Kapoor was a versatile actor and he had proved his mettle by starring in different genres of films. In 1986, Kapoor starred in a film titled Naseeb Apna Apna which was a rom-com. It was an entertaining film and people still love to watch it whenever it gets telecast on the small screen.

Chandni

Rishi Kapoor had done many films with Sridevi, but one of the most memorable films of the actors is Chandni. Directed by Yash Chopra, the movie has got cult status and Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi’s chemistry was loved by one and all.

Henna

1991 release Henna was surely one of the most successful films of Rishi Kapoor. In the movie, the actor’s character meets with an accident and lands up in Pakistan. The movie was India’s official entry at the Oscars.

Bol Radha Bol

Rishi Kapoor had worked with all the actresses in the 80s and 90s. In 1992, he starred in the film Bol Radha Bol opposite Juhi Chawla. The song Tu Tu Tu Tu Tara from the film is still loved by everyone.

Do Dooni Chaar

In early 2000, Rishi Kapoor started playing supporting roles. However, it was in 2010, when he once again played a lead role in Do Dooni Chaar. The film also starred his wife Neetu Singh and it was a treat to watch them. The movie was a hit at the box office.

Kapoor & Sons

In the past few years, Rishi Kapoor played some really memorable characters. His character of the grandfather in Kapoor & Sons was loved by one and all, and he received Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in the movie.

102 Not Out

In 2018, he teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan after a long gap for a movie titled 102 Not Out. It was a sweet, slice of life film that touched our hearts and made us emotional.

Mulk

In the same year, Rishi Kapoor did a movie titled Mulk in which he played the role of a Muslim man whose family has been accused of being anti-national as one of the family members becomes a terrorist. The actor gave a fantastic performance in it.

With Rishi Kapoor leaving us, we can clearly say that it’s an end of an era in Bollywood. We will miss you, Chintu Ji.

Injury delays production
