Ranveer Singh’s 83 to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

By: Mohnish Singh

Ranveer Singh, who is presently busy promoting his next release Gully Boy, will soon start shooting for his next film 83, which is based on Indian cricket team’s historic win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup against West Indies.

If fresh reports are to be believed, 83 will now release in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The makers have taken the decision to ensure that the film reaches to as many people as possible.

83 is being helmed by Kabir Khan while Reliance Entertainment is bankrolling the project. The first schedule of the film is expected to commence very soon. Ranveer Singh will be seen as cricketer Kapil Dev in the flick.

“Our heroic win in the 1983 World Cup is a historical event in Post-Independence India. Considering that cricket and movies are akin to religion in the country, and are bound to resonate with audiences across ages and strata, the film’s producers have decided to shoot for the Tamil and Telugu versions simultaneously,” a source reveals.

The makers are currently looking for an actress to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh in the film.

83 is set to release on 10th April, 2020.
