Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju pockets ₹ 73.35 crores in 2 Days

Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju, which hit the marquee on 29th June and racked up ₹ 34.75 crores on its opening day, stomped to an impressive ₹ 38.60 crores yesterday, taking its two-day tally to ₹ 73.35 crores. It shows the audience has embraced the film wholeheartedly and now it’s going to cross many milestones before wrapping up its theatrical run.

The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, presented by Fox Star Studios, is now poised for an impressive growth on Sunday as well. If the movie continued the momentum today, it will close out its first weekend beyond ₹ 100 crores.

Sanju has shattered many records in just two days of its run. It now aims to break the record of the biggest opening weekend of all time, a record currently held by Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), which had pulled in ₹ 114.93 crores over its first weekend. If Sanju makes in excess of ₹ 41 crores on Sunday, it will easily have the record to its name.

Well, if we see how the film has managed to perform over two days, minting ₹ 41 crores should not be a difficult task for it. If the audience keeps patronizing the movie in coming days also, a ₹ 300 crore film is definitely on the cards for Ranbir Kapoor who hasn’t had a great box-office success for a long time.

Also starring Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Jim Sarbh, and Vicky Kaushal, Sanju is a biopic on Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt. The film is jointly produced by frequent collaborators Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
