PETER CHAND: NOT TONGUE TIED AFTER ALL

ONE of the most compelling pieces of theatre I have seen this year has been Tongue, Tied & Twisted, which showed that less definitely can be more. Accomplished storyteller Peter Chand (right) entertained audiences of all ages with long forgotten fables that reconnected older listeners to their childhood. He also built a bridge to ancient times with tales that have entertained people across centuries. This was another triumph for Midlands-based theatre company Black Country Touring.

National Trust brings Pokémon into the outdoors

The National Trust is turning some of its best-known gardens and estates into Pokémon adventure zones this summer with the launch of new family-friendly trails across England and Wales.

Beginning on 23 May during the May half-term break, the Pokémon-themed activities will run at 14 National Trust properties, including Speke Hall in Merseyside and Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire.
