Mardaani 2: Rani Mukerji starrer to hit the screens on THIS date

After impressing everyone with her performance in last year’s release Hichki, Rani Mukerji is all set to be back on the big screen in Mardaani 2. The movie is a sequel to 2014 release Mardaani which was a hit at the box office. While the makers had unveiled Rani’s look from the film a few weeks ago, they have now announced the release date of the film.

Mardaani 2 will be hitting the screens on 13th December 2019. Along with a still of the film, YRF tweeted, “#Mardaani2 starring #RaniMukerji as Shivani Shivaji Roy releasing in theatres near you on 13th December 2019.  #Mardaani2OnDecember13 | @Mardaani2.”


Rani will be seen as Shivani Shivaji Roy in the film and we are sure once again the actress will impress us with her performance in the movie. While talking about Mardaani 2, Rani had earlier said, “In Mardaani 2, we will again tackle a subject that will be shocking; it will show something very real, very alarming to audiences and make them aware of what’s happening in and around our lives.”

After Mardaani released in 2014 and received a good response, there have been a lot of reports about the sequel to the film. But it was finally last year when the makers announced the sequel. When the movie was announced, Rani had stated, “Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart. Right since its release, everyone has asked me time and again when I would be doing Mardaani 2 and I'm sure this announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to them all. Gopi has written an extraordinary script that we all love and I can't wait to start shooting this film soon.”

Mardaani tackled the issue of child trafficking we are keen to know what will Mardaani 2 offer us. While the first instalment was directed by Pradeep Sarkar, Mardaani 2 is helmed by Gopi Puthran.
