Kriti Sanon to pair up with Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey?

Superstar Akshay Kumar is set to team up with filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala once again right after completing their forthcoming venture Housefull 4. Yesterday, the makers announced the film which has been titled Bachchan Pandey. Apart from announcing the title, the team also unveiled the first-look of Kumar, which received stupendous response from netizens.

Bachchan Pandey will be directed by writer-director Farhad Samji who has also called the shots for Housefull 4. The movie is scheduled to roll into theatres on Christmas 2020. Though the makers have not confirmed it officially, insiders reveal that Bachchan Pandey is the remake of the 2014 Tamil film Veeram, featuring Ajith Kumar and Tamannaah in lead roles.

The latest update on the project is that Kriti Sanon, who is also part of Housefull 4, has been approached to romance Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey, “Kriti will play Akshay’s romantic interest, the girl whom his brothers find for him and he fights goons for. Kriti and Farhad share a good rapport after Housefull 4 and he, Akshay and Sajid decided to sign her for Bachchan Pandey, a source says.

Adding further, the source says that Bachchan Pandey will feature Akshay Kumar in a new avatar. “His fans will get to see Akshay in a new avatar, speaking Tamil and doing some hard-core, hand-to-hand combat. He is called Bachchan Pandey in the movie and the story revolves him and his four young brothers. Bachchan Pandey is a fascinating character as his metamorphosis from a loving, caring, non-violent elder brother, a family man, to a raw, violent, angry man, intent on fighting for his lover’s family, takes place. There is a scale and graph to Akshay’s character as he falls in love and it is Kriti’s character that brings about the change in Bachchan Pandey. Right now, the makers are keeping it under wraps that it is a remake of Veeram.”
