Katrina Kaif to reunite with Akshay Kumar for Sooryavanshi?

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, who have delivered a series of successful movies in the past, are rumoured to be coming together once again for filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s next directorial venture, Sooryavanshi. The duo was last seen together in the Farah Khan-directed Tees Maar Khan in 2010.

While Kumar has been confirmed as the male lead in Sooryavanshi long ago, there has been no official announcement regarding the female lead. Many names have cropped up in the last few weeks though. But if reports are to be believed, Katrina is leading the race to bag the female part.

“Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have delivered many blockbusters at the box-office and their pair is an extremely popular one with fans and at the box-office. While Tees Maar Khan was their last movie together, they have been approached by many filmmakers to do a movie together, but Katrina has turned them down as she has been looking for a strong role opposite Akshay. Akshay will be seen in the role of ATS officer Veer Sooryavanshi in this comedy-drama film apparently, the actress who is paired romantically opposite him will play his girlfriend and wife who is a pillar of support to him in background full of corruption and intrigue. It’s a strong role and Katrina is definitely being considered as one of the options and has been approached for the same. It’s all very hush-hush right now, till everything is finalised,” a trade source reveals.

However, when director Rohit Shetty was contacted to confirm the news, he said, “It’s not true. We are still working on the script.”

Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif is presently shooting for her next release Bharat, wherein she is paired opposite superstar Salman Khan. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie is set to release on Eid this year.
