Karan Tacker to star in a thriller series

If you are a fan of popular television actor Karan Tacker, we have an exciting piece of news to share with you all. According to the latest reports, the handsome actor is set to make a comeback on our screens with an upcoming thriller digital series.

A leading entertainment portal reports that Tacker, who has been missing from the scene for quite some now, kept a low profile while shooting for the series in different countries across the world. Industry sources reveal that the actor will be seen playing a prominent part in the untitled series, details of which are being kept under the wraps. There is no update on who is bankrolling the project and for which OTT platform.

Tacker began his television career with Star One’s Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, but he shot to overnight fame when he played the character of Viren Singh Vadhera in Star Plus's hit show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. Co-starring Kushal Tandon, Nia Sharma and Krystle D’Souza, the daily soap was a huge success among the audience and established Karan as a household name. He then went on to participate in Colors’ popular celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 and was declared first runner up of the show in 2014.

Karan Tacker was last seen hosting Amazon Prime Video’s popular show The Remix, an Indian music reality webseries, which was nominated for the International Emmy Award for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment. He also put up guest appearances in such shows as Bepannaah and Naagin 3. His fans have been eagerly waiting for his next project ever since. We hope he announces his next endeavour soon.

Yash says Ravana in Ramayana must connect with Western viewers as film eyes global audience

Highlights

  • Yash says he humanised Ravana to help global audiences relate to the character.
  • Asura designs in the first glimpse drew criticism for looking too Western-inspired.
  • Producer Namit Malhotra compares the film's tone to Lord of the Rings and Gladiator.
Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
