‘Kantara 2’ to roll on August 27

After the riotous success of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara in 2022, all eyes are now set on Kantara 2, the second installment of the pan-India blockbuster film.

Kantara 2 will be a prequel to Kantara and fans are keeping a close watch on all updates related to the much-anticipated prequel. The latest update on the prequel suggests that the makers are gearing up to take it to the floor in the month of August.

Yes, you read that absolutely right! According to some media outlets, Rishab Shetty is planning to start rolling Kantara 2 on August 27. Hombale Films Founder Vijay Kiragandur had earlier stated that Rishab planned to commence filming in the month of August because a portion of the shoot requires the rainy season.

Reportedly, Shetty has already locked the final draft of Kantara 2 and his team is busy with the pre-production work. The prequel is set to be mounted on a bigger scale than Kantara and the producers have allocated a humongous budget for the same, as per reports.

“What you have seen is actually Part 2, and Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film,” Shetty had earlier told the media.

Kantara 2 is slated to enter theatres in 2024.
